**Excel Writer** (Excel\_Out) is a free, standalone, portable, open source package for producing Excel spreadsheets with basic formattings, formulas and page layout.
It can be used in an “Ada.Text\_IO” fashion, with Put, Put\_Line and New\_Line.

It operates independently, without interaction with any Office (MS Office, LibreOffice, …) software. It works even on platforms which don’t support such software.

**Excel Writer** can be found via the following links:

Home page: [https://excel-writer.sourceforge.io/](https://excel-writer.sourceforge.io/)

Alire crate: [Alire - Excel\_writer](https://alire.ada.dev/crates/excel_writer)

What’s new in this version:

- custom colors can be defined via `Define_Palette` method
- the number of custom formats has increased from 62 to 65535 for BIFF3+

Enjoy!

If you like the software, don’t forget to “star” the project on GitHub and/or SourceForge.
