# Problem with Publishing assistant: step 11

Does anybody know where in git checkouts the alire index in step step 11 of the publishing assistant.

I looked at all the usual places and could not find anything. And why those 5 files? Only one is one of my files. The others I would never touch.

I think I had problems with publishing once due to the PAT being too restrictive.

I find that even with alr publish set up correctly it always fails then I have to cd into the community index repo directory and run `git push -u origin HEAD`. Ideally this were not the case and the CLI automatically figures it out for you, as well as opening the PR on your behalf. Although this should be a simple fix and usage has been mostly smooth.
