I’m wondering… Is it maybe because of the NVDIA related news?

What NVIDIA news? (need 20 characters)

Few days ago AdaCore and NVIDIA announced a collaboration.

Cool. But the uptrend on TIOBE started in March:

And the TIOPE index tracks search results. Maning that someone must have started writing lots of Ada online documentation, blogs, forum and social media post, starting in March.

I have noticed over the recent months more Ada training tutorials getting generated (probably using AI) and some intro videos on YouTube. There’s also been a gradual increase in new people joining various Ada groups (eg Discord and Ada-Lang.IO). For sure interest has been growing. I hope that trends continues.

The AdaCode and NVIDIA has probably in the making for quite some time. It’s possible that bot set documentation online in preparation for the announcement.

And then AdaCore and CodeSecure are going to merge which where the same applies.

I can’t see the numbers anymore, but the forum here used to have slight steady growth month-over-month since it opened (@JeremyGrosser would know now). The Alire teams and AdaCore are the other groups I would expect to have the best insight.

If you look at recent github Ada project updates, there’s a higher update rate than I’ve ever seen before.

Over the last year, forum activity is flat or slightly down. There is some seasonality to these numbers- we generally see a spike in December around Advent of Code and things get quiet in summer when Europeans go on holiday.

Another “activity sensor” is the number of downloads of open-source projects.
A few examples:

Zip-Ada

GID

HAC

Difficult to spot a general trend…

Interesting, I wouldn’t have expected that, it feels like I see more people here and in Discord.

Perhaps some lurkers have decided to become more active, which would also be good.
