It would be good to get more Ada related topics into industry conferences. One of the leading embedded conferences in Europe is Embedded World in Nuremberg. The next instance will be in March 16-28 2027.
The call for papers is now open:
Let me know if you are interested in speaking at the conference. I’ll see if I can assist with travel costs and such.
this is a great idea! Do you have any topics at hand that you think the community could help with? Maybe things outside of AdaCore’s reach or focus, cooler projects, SPARK usages, WASM, etc? What do you think the public or other companies would like to see (trends, needs, FOAKs (First Of A Kind), challenges, etc)?
Great question. The audience of Embedded World is largely practitioners building embedded system. Lots of IOT, industrial, automotive, some A&D. There is also open source content there, The Zephyr project has had a big booth for the last couple of years. The Yocto project is usually there.
Topics that I think people would be very interested in:
Benefits of using Ada SPARK, ideally in real-world projects
What are people using Ada SPARK for
What is new in the Ada community (WASM would be interesting for sure)
Ada bare metal in embedded projects
…
Presentations are typically 30 mins with 5 mins for Q&A at the end, are combined with others with a moderator guiding the session. There is a serious selection process for submissions, but not cost to submitting.
When you get selected, you have access to all other presentations on all days, so it is a great way to sit in on a lot of thought leaders.
