Hey everyone!
Id like to introduce a project I’ve been working on recently called dev/asm. Its a newly launched programming forum focused primarily on systems programming, low-level development, and the technologies surrounding them.
The idea came from wanting a place where developers could do more than just ask questions or share code snippets. I wanted to bring discussions, repositories, compilation, testing, debugging, and collaboration into a single environment without losing the traditional forum experience.
Currently, dev/asm offers:
-
Traditional forum discussions, including categories, subcategories, topics, replies, and nested discussions.
-
Integrated repositories and development tools, with support for compilation, testing, emulation, and graphical emulation.
-
A built-in code editor with AI assistance for exploring code, investigating bugs, and making changes.
-
Development tasks and solutions, allowing people to share problems and collaborate on implementations.
-
Automatic translation of discussions and replies, making communication easier between developers from different countries.
-
Customizable profiles and Git environments, along with extensive API access.
Although the forum covers languages such as C, C++, Assembly, Rust and other systems programming technologies, I’d really like to see Ada and SPARK receive more attention, particularly in discussions about reliability, formal verification, embedded systems, and high-assurance software.
In fact, Ive recently been exploring Ada’s history within the US DOD and the role of SPARK in formally verified software. Its a fascinating subject, and I think theres a lot that developers coming from C, C++ or Rust could learn from the Ada community.
Im not trying to replace existing communities like this one. Quite the opposite — I’d like dev/asm m to help introduce more developers to technologies they might otherwise overlook, including Ada and SPARK.
The forum is still very new, so im especially interested in feedback. What would make a general systems programming platform genuinely useful to Ada developers? Better GNAT and Alire integration? SPARK verification tools? Dedicated discussions about formal methods?
Id be happy to hear your thoughts, suggestions, and criticism.

Thanks for reading and best regards for y’all!
