It was 25 years ago today... Ada-Europe 2001 conference started in Leuven

Today, 14 May 2026, marks the 25th anniversary of the start of the 6th International Conference on Reliable Software Technologies - Ada-Europe’2001 - organized in Leuven, Belgium, May 14-18, 2001, by Ada-Belgium and the Leuven university.

A copy of the conference website is still available at

including links to pictures taken on the first 4 days of the event [1][2][3][4], as well as the Final Program brochure [5].

Have a look at who you still recognize in the pictures, and reminisce on the rich program of that week long event!

A bit of a far fetched and weird question. In day 2 picture 18 [1] there is a stand about “OrbRiver the French ORB…”. I tried to find more info about it since it is named after the french river “Orb” [2] and I think that is funny.

I assume that Top Graph’X was the original creator but I can’t find any sources online about the company except for a few old websites referencing its name. From here on I’ll assume that they merged with PrismTech.

Looking it up I could find this presentation [3] from PrismTech explaining that they renamed it to “OpenFusion RTOrb/Ada”. From there I found out that PrismTech merged with ADLINK [4] but OpenFusion seams to be sold/licensed by Rocketsoftware now [5]. Before that it used to be a Micro Focus product until Rocketsoftware “got” it.
But I couldn’t find when OpenFusion got “transferred” to Micro Focus.

Do you perhaps know the missing links between Top Graph’X, PrismTech and Micro Focus? Or do you know someone who might know about it?

You don’t have to answer the questions but I do would like to know more about Top Graph’X as they sponsored the conference but now don’t seam to exist any more (at least the company name is not searchable online)

PS: during my search I also discovered ORBitAda [6] which I, AdaOrbit, find _very_ funny.

Edit: [3] already explains that Top Graph’X got acquired by PrismTech. I didn’t read it thoroughly :woman_facepalming:
